Understand status messages before taking action
Many people rush to change details or submit an appeal before they have interpreted the message correctly. Start by understanding the result shown on your status page.
Approved
The assessment outcome is positive for that month or record. A pay date or payment instruction may still appear separately.
Pending
A final outcome has not been shown yet. This is not the same as a decline.
Declined
The application or month has a negative outcome with a stated reason. Use the reason to decide the next step.
Verification
Identity or banking checks can continue independently from the main application result.
This page explains the topic but cannot alter an application, payment, appeal or contact record. Use a recognised official SASSA service whenever personal grant data must be changed.
